The Details… Abbey & John’s wedding, as told by Abbey:
WHERE: We got married at St. Luke’s the Evangelist Church in Richmond Heights and had our reception at The World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park. Celebrating in Forest Park was special to us because John & I met at a charity event there, and John proposed in the same place that we met.
THEME/STYLE: Ivory feathers and neutral, earth tones with gold accents to match the outdoor venue, The World’s Fair Pavilion, and gold chiavari chairs.
BRIDE’S DRESS: I selected a silk, ivory, fit and flare Pronovias dress. I also designed a one-shoulder strap made from lace, silk and feathers which I added to the once strapless dress. Loved it!
BRIDE’S SHOES: I loved my shoes! I chose a champagne, peep toe shoe with a lace up accent on the heal by BCBG.
JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES: My earrings were my ‘something borrowed’. I wore my sister’s pearl earrings given to her as a wedding gift from our grandfather who passed away about a year before I got married. I also wore a pearl bracelet.
HAIR & MAKEUP: Emily Miller (with Delicately Bold) did my make-up and my hairstylist did my hair for my wedding. The girls met us at the Ritz-Carlton that morning and did an amazing job – love them!
GROOMSMEN: John had both of his brothers as his best men – Dan & Mike. John also had four groomsmen, two of which he met in high school at SLUH and two of which he met in college at Mizzou. We had four ushers – two of the Groom’s friends from college, a good friend of the Bride and the Bride’s brother. All of the guys wore black tuxes with bow ties and suspenders as requested by the Groom.
BRIDESMAIDS: My sisters, Stephanie Reinhart and Maggie Winkler, were my matron of honor and maid of honor, respectively. I also had four bridesmaids: Amy Neier, Sara Deutsch, Rachel Pryor and Megan Brockman. Amy & I met in college at Mizzou & were roommates for 4 years, Sara is my cousin, Rachel & I were on the same club soccer team in high school and Megan & I met working at KPMG. All of my bridesmaids were fabulous & planned an amazing shower and bachelorette party for me. They also helped me pick out their bridesmaid dresses – a long, black, silk-chiffon Priscilla of Boston dress. Gorgeous!
THE FLOWERS: Gorgeous! About half of the tables at the reception were decorated with tall vases of large, tall white feathers, and the other half were decorated with large fish bowl vases filled with white roses, green & white hydrangeas, green hypericon berries, white ranunculus, large green leaves and curly willow. My bouquet was made of white feathers, white roses and white ranunculus. The bridesmaid bouquets were made of white roses, green & white hydrangeas, green hypericon berries, white ranunculus and large green leaves.
THE CAKE: We had an ivory, 4 tier cake, each of which had a different design. We designed the cake and selected the icing and filling together at our cake tasting. This is one of the few things we did together, just the two of us, and had so much fun! The cake was also decorated with white feathers & fresh flowers. We loved our cake and were so happy with how it turned out. We also had a lot of fun cutting and eating it!
INVITATIONS: We selected the Silken invitation with Bow by Checkerboard. The invitations were ivory with a champagne bow. Very unique layout, font and verbiage! Loved them!
FOOD & DRINK: We had a Hors d’Oeuvres reception and served various items such as jumbo shrimp, meatballs, crab Rangoon, etc. We also had a full bar with top-shelf liquor, red bull, red & white wine & champagne from Laetitia winery, various beers, etc.
BRIDE’S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: I can’t pinpoint only 1 memory, but here are a few: seeing John for the first time in Forest Park, John & I exchanging our vows, seeing my dad for the first time, arriving at the reception & cutting the cake together, and dancing and singing with each other to our first dance. The entire day was absolutely amazing! Our rehearsal dinner at Bocci Bar in Clayton was also very nice, memorable and so much fun!
GROOM’S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: The most memorable moment was dancing with Abbey to “My Best Friend,” our first dance. It was the two of us, together, smiling at each other, taking in the day and celebrating our promises to each other. She looked so beautiful.
THE HONEYMOON: For our honeymoon, we went to northern Santorini, Greece (Oia), as well as various places in Italy – Rome, the Chianti region of Tuscany, Vernazza (Cinque Terre) and Venice. Oia was the most beautiful place in the world! We also loved Tuscany & Venice as well! We swam in the Mediterranean; visited wineries in Chianti; saw Venetian glass in the island of Murano (the glass blowing island minutes from Venice); and saw the Colosseum, Vatican & Pantheon in Rome. We also relaxed, laid out at the resort pools in Greece & went out on a private boat in the Mediterranean. The food in both Greece and Italy was also fabulous. It was the most AMAZING two weeks of our lives!

Abbey you looked utterly and breathtakingly exquisite on your wedding day.

I am in love with these shoes! Abbey so rocked them too. I would probably break something if I tried to wear them myself so I’m a wee bit jealous.![]()

A little help from John’s brothers. (Which he definitely needed because these suspenders were tricky!)

Always my favorite moment of the day… The first look.

Abbey and her super sweet bridesmaids.

Sibling pictures are the BEST! They always bring out the best smiles.

A little bit of romance on the staircase at the Artist’s Guild.

Abbey and John love weeping willow trees so I made it a point to be sure we squeezed in this photo between the ceremony and reception.

Downtime Band rocks! Love these guys. Definitely my favorite wedding band of 2011!

Congrats Abbey and John! Thank you for having us be a part of your incredible day! It was an honor.
